Certificate ceremony II

The Senior girls quartet (l,r JoJo, Keithea, Cyntoia, and Monique) provided a special song for the occassion.

Dr. Kilsby introduced the "Lab-in-a-suitcase" project the CLS Dept. is involved with. Come back to the blog later for a more indepth presentation of the LIS.

Dr. Marcia Kilsby, Department Chair, had opening remarks.

Rachel Tambunam(Senior CLS major) played the piano as guests came in for the certificate ceremony.

Karen Reiner had the closing prayer. Sorry the pictures are not in order.

For the first time this year a graduating senior was asked to read the covenant. Scott Juhl read the covenant and then the class responded with I Do signifying their acceptance of the covenant.

Al McMullen explaining to the guests the significance of his tie. There are two occassions when he wears this tie. One is when he is upset about something the students have done or haven't done. The other is for happy occassions. This was definitely a happy occassion.

Shahira Stubbs (CLS senior) sang a medley of songs accompanied by Marvin Powell (CLS senior) at the piano.

The youngest CLS-to-be-student, Kalyse Reiner, enjoyed the festivities while her Mom Karen helped serve the guests.

Masato and Maryam enjoying the cake and punch.

Some of the goodies.

The graduates of 2007. Only one missing was Phyllis Blake who had to be at Mayo Clinic to house hunt as she was hired there to work in their laboratory.

Also missing was Mr. Richard Show, Clinical Chemistry Instructor who was home sick and couldn't make it. He is back to work now feeling much better.
